Literally every mainstream ‘solution’ to the housing crisis seems to just be a variation of “BUILD MORE CONDOS!” when it really should be “DESIGNATE HOUSING AS A HUMAN RIGHT AND STOP MAKING IT A COMMODITY!”
Not to mention a host of other problems like the presence of toxins from pesticides, pH imbalance, lack of nitrogen in the soil, decreased soil biodiversity, contaminated water table, deforestation and more that result from unsustainable agriculture.
Doing a podcast on art, video games, ideology and politics. It’s called art / work / play. This episode is on Ian Cheng and Will Wright, and we do a play through of SimCity 2000.
Over here @spekwork studio we’re doing a podcast and twitch stream cause it’s easier than blogging, and we think@its funny to spend a lot of time on creating ephemeral content. In e01 we talk about Foodora workers’ attempt to unionize the gig economy and we do a play through of no frills browser-based game aisles of glory. You can find Art / Work / Play on SoundCloud and Apple Podcasts.

So we’re now in libra season, which means I’ve been recording music for a decade now. I made a playlist (with help from @sabrisaur) that brings together my favourite tracks from the last ten years. It’s a soundtrack for ♎️szn. Link in bio. Available on Apple Music and Spotify.
“We need to learn, or re-learn, how to build comradeship and solidarity instead of doing capital’s work for it by condemning and abusing each other. This doesn’t mean, of course, that we must always agree – on the contrary, we must create conditions where disagreement can take place without fear of exclusion and excommunication.”
∞.7– Ryan Somerville & Ben McCarthy
This is the prettiest track on Paranoia Is Appropriate, imho. Built around a string quartet, and a melancholy piano line, it’s flood-lit by woozy digital modulations and a grinding, subby base.
Available on Apple Music, Spotify, TIDAL, and the rest. Buy it on Bandcamp to support the music makers.
